Free Bella Baby Blanket Pattern – Granny Square and Color Changes
Blankets and Afghans . Patterns - Baby Blankets and Afghans . Patterns - Blankets and Afghans
I used to make Granny Square afghans all the time. I can’t even tell you how many are still on my beds and in my closets. They are beautiful, warm and lovely. But, I hadn’t made any in recent years. When they became all the rage recently I got excited and have been making simple and then a little more complicated versions. I just love them. I think the patterns that I’ve designed recently are perfect for beginners and veteran crocheters alike. Even with the most simple of designs you can make them look so different through color combinations and different borders.
Last week I posted about my Halloween Granny Afghan. Yesterday, I launched my Baby Girl Preemie Baby Blanket. And today I am posting my Bella Baby Blanket. It is easy and quick to make. It’s perfect for beginners because, again, it is one big granny square (that you can make as I describe in the pattern) or you can make it as large as you want. And then you decide on the color change rows after the first 25!
The 2-round border is simple, too. Two rounds of single crochet. It gives a really nice tailored look. Once again. I made them both the same color and the same as the last Granny Square rows. But, you can change any color combination you would like, of course.
As far as the hook size and yarn choice, I used a Size G (4.25 mm) hook and a #4 weight Big Twist Value yarn. I really like the way it turned out with these combinations.
I am including the pattern here, but if you would like the ad-free .pdf version be sure to visit my Etsy Shop or Ravelry Store.

****Important Sizing Note:*****
If you would like to make this blanket larger, just continue making more rounds until you reach the size that you would like. The directions for the border rounds would be the same.
