The “Pearls, Pastels and Poms” Baby Blanket Pattern!!
Blankets and Afghans . Patterns - Blankets and Afghans
Today I am posting my newest free pattern, called The “Pearls, Pastels and Poms” Baby Blanket! It is so cute and is perfect for photos! It works up very quickly using the C2C (Corner to Corner) Crochet method! If you haven’t tried this technique yet, this is a great project to make as your first one! I will be including a video to show you exactly how to do it later in this post.
This was made using a “G” (4.00 mm) hook and a #3 weight yarn. I chose the “G” hook so that the stitches and “squares” used in C2C will be closer together with smaller gaps between the squares. I think it worked well. I used Bernat “Softee Baby Coordinates” in the color, “Baby, Baby”, for the yarn. This yarn has a very unique texture, kind of crinkly, and it has a pearlized, shimmery look (that’s where the pearl in the names comes from) and it is the coordinating yarn with the regular “Softee Baby” yarn. People have really loved my “Soft and Cuddly” Baby Blanket done in this yarn and so I decided I would try the coordinating yarn for this project.
This entire blanket is made using regular C2C technique and then is finished off with a pompon at each corner.
I hope you enjoy making this blanket. Once you know how to do the C2C technique this project goes really fast.
I made my pompons using the Clover Pompon maker, 2 1/2 inch size. Of course you can make yours by any method you choose, but I highly recommend the pompon maker. It goes really quickly and the final product looks great!
So, for this pattern I am including the written instructions and the C2C chart for you to use.
Enjoy!
