Materials Needed:
– 1 1/2 (10 oz./482 yards/440 m) skeins Aran weight (#4) yarn (Color – “Fiuschia” (I used Red Heart Super Saver “Ombre” for this scarf.)
Total yardage: Approximately 723 yards for the scarf and fringe
(This yarn is 100% Acrylic Yarn; Machine Washable.) – Crochet Hook, Size I/5.50 mm
– Yarn Needle (Used for working in loose yarn ends.)
Scissors
Stitches Used:
Chain Stitch – ch
Single Crochet – sc
Double Crochet – dc
Front Post Triple Crochet – FPTC
Special Notes:
The Ch 1 or Ch 3 at the beginning of a row are considered the first stitch of the row.
Front Post Triple Crochet (FPTC):
YO twice; insert the hook from the front to back to front around the post of the specified stitch. Draw up a loop, and (YO and draw through 2 loops ) 3 times until there is one loop on the hook. This creates the Front Post Triple Crochet.
Braid:
Skip the next stitch, FPtr in each of next 2 stitches. Working in front of last 2 stitches that you just made, FPtr in skipped st. This creates the Braid.
Gauge:
4 – inch square = 6 rows of double crochet stitches and 11 double crochet stitches in a 4 inch row
Finished Size: 12 inches wide X 70 inches long (not including fringe)
