Thank you; this little hat will come in handy for my hospital donations to the preemies'; I will check to see if I need to make it smaller. Just lovely with those colors.

I made the 306 months size, used a 5mm hook and 4 weight yarn like the pattern says, but my hat is only 5 inches tall, when it should be 6.5-7 inches tall for 3-6 months. Did I do something wrong? What could cause this? Please help! 🙂

Love the little crotchet beanie but I would like to know what you mean by magic circle?

  • Anonymous has written: 09/03/2015 at 5:12 pm Reply

google it – it's so easy and makes a perfect start to stuffed toys and hats – well anything crocheted in the round xx

Wonderful and a very easy pattern… My Daughter loved it…

  • Christine Longe has written: 01/14/2016 at 3:07 pm Reply

You may crochet with a tighter gauge than I do. I do crochet loosely. I would suggest using a larger hook.

I'm so glad that you find my pattern! I hope your project turned out just the way you wanted! Thanks for visiting my site!

Please don't laugh, but just making sure…hdc is a half double crochet. Your picture does not look like my half double crochets, but I am still learning to go from written patterns to the crochet hook!
Love the look of this hat, and I want to make sure that I am doing this correctly! Thank you so much!!

  • Mac Alvarez has written: 07/14/2016 at 10:06 am Reply

Flower crocheting is one the things which I wanted to learn. I want to put all the flowers at once in crochet and one single flower in another crochet with different techniques and ideas. You're doing wonderful things. I feel envy of you. Always I want to give a gift to my little toddlers this type of stuffs in their happy birthdays. But I am clueless where to start crocheting. I wish if you could teach me by sitting by my side over a cup of coffee.

I think it is a double crochet.

I just love seeing this little hat. I'll be looking foward to doing a few for the children with cancer at the Oncologic Hospital.

I love your patterns but I am not sure what " fphdc " is…I don't think I have ever heard of this before?

  • Fonda has written: 01/15/2018 at 9:38 pm Reply

fphdc stands "for front post half double crochet." This is where you do your Stitch around the Stitch instead of in the top two Loops of the Stitch and you enter from the front of the article. Half double crochet is the Stitch you are working around the post. 😉

I love this pattern, and making it up now. I am sort of OCD, and would love to have total # of stitches at the end of each row! I always, count, count, count, even though I've been crocheting for 0ver 30 years! Thanks for your generosity in this free pattern! Diane

  • Margaret has written: 01/10/2023 at 8:35 pm Reply

I wish you would of said in each row, how many stitches you end up with.
