Skill Level: Easy
Finished Size: Approximately 4 ½ inches in diameter
Materials Needed:
– 1 skein Lily “Sugar ‘n Cream” Cotton Yarn in White (Color A)
– 1 skein Lily “Sugar ‘n Cream” Cotton Yarn in Lime Green (Color B)
– Small amount of Lily “Sugar ‘n Cream” Black Cotton Yarn
– Size G/4.25 mm
– Yarn Needle (Used for working in loose yarn ends.)
Green Apple Coaster (Make 4)
Round 1: Using Color A. Using the “Magic Circle”, Ch 1. Work 12 hdc in the circle. Join with slip stitch to top of first hdc. (12 hdc)
Round 2: Ch 1. Work 1 hdc in same stitch as Ch 1. Work 2 hdc in each stitch around. Join to first hdc with slip stitch. (24 hdc)
Round 3: Ch 1. Work 1 hdc in same stitch as Ch 1. *Work 1 hdc in next stitch. Work 2 hdc in next stitch.* Repeat from * to * around. Join to first hdc with slip stitch.
Round 4: Ch 1. Work 1 single crochet in same stitch as Ch 1. *Work 1 sc in next 2 stitches. Work 2 sc in next stitch. * Repeat from * to * around. Join to first sc with slip stitch.
Round 5: Change to Color B. Ch 1. Sc in each stitch around.
Fasten off and weave in all loose ends.
Seeds: Using Black Yarn make 2 stitches (seeds) in second round. (See photo for placement.) Fasten off and work in loose ends.
Leaf: Using Lime Green. Ch 8. Work 3 dc in 4th ch from hook. Work 1 dc in next 2 chains. Work 1 hdc in next ch. Work 1 sc in next ch. Sl st, ch 1, sl st in last chain. Turn back. Sc in next ch. Hdc in next ch. 1 dc in next 2 dc. 3 dc in final ch. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Stem: Using black yarn, attach to end of leaf and through the apple. Ch 4. Turn and sl st in next 3 st. Sl st in first st on the actual apple. Fasten off and weave in ends.
