New FREE Pattern — “May Flowers” Crochet Baby Beanie in Size 3 – 6 months

Here it is!  “May Flowers” Crochet Baby Beanie!  The pattern here is for the 3 – 6 month size.  So be sure to try it out and I would love to see you creations here in the “Comments” section or on my Facebook page!

“May Flowers” Crochet Baby Hat”
Crochet Beanie 
3 – 6 Months Size

Size:
3 – 6 months
Materials Needed:
–  1 skein Aran weight (#4) yarn  (Lemony Yellow) (I used “Vanna’s Choice” for this hat.)
–  Small amount of #4 weight yarn  (for flowers)  (I used Caron “Simply Soft”)
–  Crochet Hook,  Size H/5.00 mm 
–  2 (½ -inch) buttons to go with the flowers (You choose the shapes and
             colors!)
              –  Tapestry Needle or Crewel Needle (to Sew on Buttons)
  –  Yarn Needle  (Used for working in loose yarn ends.)
Size 3 – 6 months
Head Circumference:  14 – 17 inches
(These hat measurements will depend on the type of yarn that you use.)  My exact completed hat measurements were:  15 inches around and hat height was 6.5 inches.)
Hat Measurement:  14.5 – 15 inches
Hat Height:  6.0 – 6.5 inches
Round 1:  Using the “Magic Circle”, Ch 1.  Work 7 hdc in the circle.  Join with slip stitch to top of first hdc.   (7 hdc)
Round 2:  Ch 1.  Work 2 hdc in each stitch around.  Join to first hdc with slip stitch. 
(14 dc)
Round 3:  Ch 1.  *Work 1 hdc in first stitch.  Work 2 hdc in next stitch.*  Repeat from * to * around.  Join to first hdc with slip stitch. 
Round 4:  Ch 1.  *Work 1 hdc in next 2 stitches.  Work 2 hdc in next stitch.*  Repeat from * to * around.  Join to first hdc with slip stitch.  
Round 5:  Ch 1.  *Work 1 hdc in next 3 stitches.  Work 2hdc in next stitch. *  Repeat from * to * around  Join to first hdc with slip stitch. 
Round 6: Ch 1.  *Work 1 hdc in next 4 stitches.  Work 2hdc in next stitch. *  Repeat from * to * around  Join to first hdc with slip stitch.
Round 7:  Ch 1.  Work 1 hdc in each stitch around.   Join to first hdc with slip stitch.
Round 8 – 12:  Repeat Round 7.
Round 13:  Ch 1. *Work fphdc in first stitch.   Work bphdc in next stitch.”  Repeat from * to * around.  Join to first stitch. 
Fasten off yarn and weave in loose ends.
Flowers:  (Make 2)  (Your choice:  Both flowers in same color or each a different color.  Either way the hat looks adorable!)

Round 1:  Using “Magic Circle” 5 sc, join with sl st to form circle. 
Round 2:  (This round forms the round of 5 “petals”.)  Sl st in first st.  *Ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2* in next st.* Repeat from * to * 4 more times.  Sl st in space between last and first petal.  Fasten off.  Weave in loose ends.

Sew buttons to the flowers BEFORE attaching flowers to the hat.

Sew flowers to the beanie!   (See photo for placement.  Or, place where you would like!)

    Hi there. Thanks for the simple but sweet pattern. In rounds 8 – 12 I assume you meant to write "repeat round 7."
