I’m totally into pastels this Spring, but, of course, these bookmarks could be made in any color of your choice!!!

Here is the video tutorial for this bookmark!  Be sure to leave a comment if you have any comments or questions about the pattern!!

Skill Level:  Easy

Finished Size:  Approximately 12 inches (from end of one flower to the end of the other flower)

Materials Needed:
–  1 skein Medium #4 yarn  (Pistache Sparkle or Pink Sparkle) (I used “I Love This Cotton” for this hat.)
–  Crochet Hook,  Size G/4.00 mm
–  4 (3/4 –inch) buttons
–  Small Size Tapestry or Crewel Needle (Used to sew on buttons.)
–  Yarn Needle  (Used for working in loose yarn ends.)

Step 1:  Make 1 Flower.
(Your choice of color:  I did both flowers in the same color but it would be nice with each a different color, too.  Either way the bookmark looks great!)Round 1:  Using “Magic Circle” work 5 dc, join with sl st to form circle.

Round 2:  (This round forms the round of 5 “petals”.)  Sl st in first st.  *Ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2* in next st.* Repeat from * to * 4 more times.  Sl st in first stitch which is the base of the first petal.  Do not fasten off or cut yarn!!!!
Step 2:  Chain 40.

Step 3:  (The following will create the Second Flower.)
Round 1: (This will be the Center of the Second Flower.)
In second chain from the hook, work 5 dc.  Join with sl st to form circle.  Round 2:  (This round forms the round of 5 “petals”.)  Sl st in first st.  *Ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2* in next st.* Repeat from * to * 4 more times.  Sl st in first stitch which is the base of the first petal.  Fasten off.  Leaving a 7 – 8-inch length of yarn.
Step 4:  Sew Buttons to each flower.   Using the length of yarn left from the beginning of the first flower, sew 1 button to each side of the center of Flower 1.  Fasten off yarn and weave in ends.
Using the length of yarn left when completing Flower 2, sew 1 button to each side of the center of Flower 2.  Fasten off yarn and weave in ends.

Your Crochet Flower Bookmark is now complete!

Enjoy giving this lovely gift to friends and family, particularly the teachers you know!

what a cute and sweet idea. I think that in addition to making for teachers, you must make a few to keep– as they are so adorable!

This is a precious pattern, and I am not trying to “look a gift horse in the mouth,” but I have a concern about your written directions. You do not include the slip stitches at the beginning and end of each petal. This could be a pitfall for those who are only reading the directions and not watching your wonderful video. Thank you so much for sharing your pattern freely!

You are right, Phillys! Thank you for catching this and for letting me know! I will try to get it corrected soon. In the meantime, anyone interested in this pattern, be sure to check out the video tutorial so that you know exactly how to make this pattern. Again, thanks, Phillys!

From childhood, I wanted to crochet some beautiful thing like you. But unfortunately I didn't get enough time to learn crocheting. I was confused from where to start and where to end. I sometimes think how could you do all this. And now I am married and I've two children. Now also I don't get enough time to focus on crocheting. This video shows some good technique to learn. I hope to gift like this to my children. Thanks a lot.
